Cleaning the oven
To keep on top of this unpopular job, place an oven-proof bowl of water in the oven when you have finished cooking and heat at a high temperature for 20 minutes. The steam will help to loosen residue. Once the oven has cooled, wipe down the oven interior and shelves with a sponge.
In the bathroom
When steam builds up on the bathroom mirror, put it to good use by polishing away streaks, fingerprint marks and toothpaste splatters using an e-cloth. Keep one handy on the towel rail in the bathroom for a quick daily wipe. As your bath water is draining away scrub down the sides using a soft cloth and cream cleanser. Wipe over taps. Use your drying towel to dry the bath to prevent water marks and limescale build-up.
When taking out the trash
Stash a spray bottle filled with a solution of Milton Sterilising Fluid, under the kitchen sink. Each time you change the bag, spritz the inside of the bin with a few squirts of the solution to keep germs and odours at bay. Leave to dry naturally before lining the bin with a new bag.
In the kitchen
To keep taps free from limescale, fill a spray bottle with a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water and keep it under the kitchen sink. Get into the habit of spraying the taps and sink surroundings while you wait for the sink to fill to do the washing up. Leave the vinegar to work while you do the washing up, then rinse with clean water when you have finished. Keep a spray bottle handy in the bathroom cabinet, too, and spray taps before you have a bath or shower, rinsing afterwards.
