Can You Put Eye Cream on Your Lips?
Not sure why we didn’t realise this sooner, seeing as over the years we’ve learned that almost every beauty product can serve a dual purpose. For example, we all know that lipstick can be dotted on the cheeks as blush and eyeliner can fill in sparse brows. Pigment is pigment, right? But can you really do the same with skincare? It seems so, T.I.L. one of the most easy-yet-game-changing beauty hacks to date: Using eye cream on the lips.
You see, the skin around the eye area is delicate, as is that of the lips. This is why both areas are where premature aging is so often seen first. Our lips also don’t have the sebaceous glands that work so hard to keep our face moisturised. So this is where an eye cream, packed with ingredients to increase volume, improve definition, smooth, and prevent lines, really comes into play.
Yes, you could invest in an anti-ageing lip treatment on its own. But we all love a 2-for-1 product. Eye creams are also usually very safe because they have been tested for if they get in and or near the eye. One of my favourite eye creams is Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair. I slather it on my under eyes and eyelids. And whatever is leftover on my finger, I put on my lips.
If you’re in the mood for experimenting. But slathering your entire pout in eye cream sounds like a little much. Start by just dotting it on your cupid’s bow and smile lines.
